Arts Night Out, monthly Friday art events organized by the Arts Council of Greater Lansing, allow residents of the #LoveLansing community to discover local artists of all different mediums in some of their favorite places around the Greater Lansing area. From boutiques to offices, to bars or parking lots, these Friday nights are teeming with diverse people, culture and ideas.

Last Friday, Moonsail North hosted published poet Aaryn Richard at our headquarters for Arts Night Out in downtown Lansing. Aaryn read from his postmodern, confessional manuscript, “Fever Dream.” Attendees had the opportunity to ask him questions and discuss the role of poetry in his life and in this high-tech era. As a storytelling agency, we were excited to create a space for dialogue around linguistic creativity.

To increase social media engagement from our guests, we even designed a Geofilter for the event!

Many of our neighbors at the Riverfront Business Center transformed their offices into art exhibits as well. Hude Legal Services hosted visual artist Rueben Kenyatta and showed work from the University of Michigan Prison Creative Arts Project, Think Space hosted musician Taylor Taylor and displayed photos by Dan Price, Queue Advertising presented art by Rick Cunningham, and DANCE Lansing performed at Amyjo’s Howe About Personal Training studio.

#TeamMoonsail loved this fun opportunity to collaborate with our wonderful neighbors on yet another event, meet more of the Lansing community, and celebrate the arts through Arts Night Out. Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy a night of the arts with us! For those of you who missed it, you can catch a recap of the event here
