The Michigan Healthcare Workforce Index, a first-of-its-kind report ranking the “health” of healthcare occupations in Michigan over the next 10 years, was released last week by the Michigan Health Council. The report will help assess the outlook of the field address shortages, and build a stronger healthcare workforce. We were pleased to see the report receive coverage across the state, including Crain’s Detroit Business, Bridge Magazine, Michigan Radio, and more. Check out this MLive story to learn more.

This month, our marketing coordinator Nick traveled to Orlando to represent Charitable Gift America at the #NACDA23 convention to talk about name, image, and likeness (NIL) solutions with university administrators. #TeamMoonsail was proud to design trade show materials, including a booth backdrop, brochures, business cards, and promotional giveaway items, while providing on-the-ground communications support throughout the event. It’s an honor to collaborate with the leader in charitable NIL solutions that effectively engage student-athletes!

The newly accredited Physician Assistant (PA) master's degree program at Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine is among the first in the nation to train PAs alongside DOs. By educating PAs—the fastest growing health care profession—the college is once again rising to meet health care challenges and improving access to medical care. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sparrow Health System has initiated a campaign that aims to dispel popular myths surrounding the disease. From the number of men who are diagnosed with breast cancer to the role that genetics play Sparrow hopes to encourage others to routinely complete checkups—which in the long run will save lives and improve health.

The latest issue of the SpartanDO Journeys magazine explores the investments in research initiatives and collaborative research projects that the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine hopes will yield new strategies to prevent or treat diseases. #TeamMoonsail has been supporting the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council (MBIPC) as it fights to pass a #FeeScheduleFix that will protect access to care for auto accident survivors and keep quality providers in business. We've proudly assisted MBIPC with a volley of press releases and statements, a statewide provider survey (conducted by ROI Insight), legislative handouts, and social media post graphics.

We mustache you a question: are you speaking up and checking in? This month, #TeamMoonsail supported Sparrow Health System with its #Movember campaign, which spotlights men's health issues, including mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and more. While "real" facial hair was not an option this year due to the pandemic, Sparrow found a creative way to rally support through a digital campaign featuring fun faux mustaches.
